Hi all! Newbie, wanted to say hi! I'm in Murfreesboro, we've finally decided to take the plunge and get chickens! We've got 8 chicks, about two weeks old, and I'm terrified that we're going to be overrun with poultry in no time at all, we're hooked already.
Hi! There are a bunch of BYCers in and around Murfreesboro. YAY!
Every so often we try to do a local meet up. You should come play with us. This lot is crazy fun!

Holly if you go to Foley's you could bring me back a couple of Magpie Calls maybe they have some off color or miss marked one I have a hen that lost her mate and she is lonely
Holly, he a beautiful roo and a great boy. It breaks my heart to give him away, but his poor feet are so sad. I'm hoping someone can help him out. He's from the Gardner line and is such a good boy. I have worked and worked on him and he clearly needs the foot surgery.
Can you meet up this Friday? I'm pretty free all day at this point. Next week I only have Monday evening free. That may be too late for you with the school kids. Just let me know. I'll hold her for you. Thanks for adding the Thin Mints to my pile.
Raven..I have already asked for someone else..he has nothing for sale now but I will be going back up later in the Summer or fall when he will have some...I'll take orders for them before I go
Jerry and his wife are so nice I just keep going back and back....ok the birds are pretty darn good as well. This time I'm bringing home some more BLRW, Partridge and Blue Wyandotte chicks and a BLRW Roo for my second guy..since my main guy was dinner in Dec...darn hawk
City Girl Friday works for me I'm more free this week than next..I'm taking appointments next week for home time
lemuckley_flock Your in trouble now..you are in with us
we will give you an accelerated lesson in chicken math before you know it.Troyerchicks has a real good start on chicken math...I had nothing to do with that
Well my chicks are officially lost in the mail..never loose hatchery birds in the mail never but they can loose the expensive one's no problem. No worries they know they will be here tomorrow morning...how do they know that when they don't know where they are
my little babies in a dark box another night..and it's only 12.Thank goodness I had them put in a heat pack so hopefully they won't be too cold.
I reached into the nest box where my winter chicks are living with 2 Ameraucana hens and got their eggs out but surprise I pulled out a blue as can be pullet egg..This pullet is a half leghorn half Ameraucana straight as an arrow comb black legs and clean face...not one Ameraucana trait even shaped like Legs So,if all of those EE posts are correct and I know they are not then I have or have had all the 3% straight comb colored layers around.
Funny...she's been for sale and no one has paid her a moments notice...tough luck she's staying here now
