Yeah, they said that they would take it. It just seems mean to make it continue to suffer if it is seriously maimed, you know?

Once my Dad was deer hunting and a bobcat jumped on his back and started biting him in the back of the neck. He actually had to put his rifle over his shoulder and shoot it off his back. I don't think there are too many of them left so walden's puddle would probably be very receptive to getting one.
Just letting you guys know that I have started posting everything for sale on CL. 10 Sebastopols, 5 lav/lav pied/opaline guineas, 1 IB peahen, 4 Welsummers, 18 silkies, 9 OEGB, 13 goats, and 3 Pyreness. I have only got the guineas, peahen, and geese up so far and won't be able to get to the others until tomorrow. I would prefer they go to people on here over general public as I feel good about how the people on this thread take care of their animals.
PM if you are interested in anything. Check out the CLs ads for pics.
I am having the same luck with my German NH eggs.... first batch was crushed by the PO but still 3 hatched. Second batch arrived in great shape and they send lots of extras... as of yesterday NONE had pipped or hatched. It's not my week for good luck with my chickens. I bought a dozen lavender Araucana hatching eggs the first of September- from a well known breeder. They should've started hatching this weekend - but not a single one has hatched so far. A couple days after I started the Araucanas in the bator, I started adding cream legbar eggs as they were laid - they'll hatch over the next few days - and the first one hatched this morning. It's still wet so I can't tell clearly if it's male or female. At first I thought male, but the chipmunk stripes are beginning to show up a little more. So I'm crossing my fingers it's a pullet. I sure hope at least one or two more hatch so that one chick will have some company. But a ZERO hatch rate for the Araucans?!!!!! I'll keep them in there a few more days - just in case. The bator has maintained a steady temp - and I've kept the humidity just right, too. I swear everytime I put expensive eggs in the bator, I have an awful hatch.
Sam - that's an incredible story about your dad and the bobcat. We've seen bobcats on our property a couple times - but just a quick glance because they were running so fast.
emmalynn - sorry you're having to rehome your birds. I hope you find good homes for all of them.
