Kandi - I'm looking forward to reading Donna's reply about the hatching issue. I had the same thing this hatch - 0 out of 16 lavender araucanas - but the cream legbar eggs are hatching right on schedule - same incubator, same settings.
I hope she has the answer for us both...it is weird....the 11th hatched about an hour ago...so 100% hatch on the Dominiques....and of course 0 on the Marans....at first I thought it may have been the humidity...maybe they needed more....tried that this time and still no luck soooo....I just don't have a clue.....the worst part is it was one of our friends eggs.....he is not upset at me or anything...but it just makes me feel bad.....

There is no PRESSURE in this crowd.

I don't know, I have had the same problem with my Ameraucanas. They had fully formed chicks, still wet but dead. Marans do best with a dry hatch. Some people sand some of the color off to help them evaporate. I THINK with mine, they eggs came from young pullets and something was just wrong and they died. I am having better hatches now. There may be a genetic thing happening who knows.

Kandi, you need to ask on the Incubators Anonymous thread. There are some SERIOUS hatchers over there. They might have some ideas. KathyinMO has some Hatching info.... look her up. She usually has that info in her siggy.

On a BRIGHTER NOTE I sold ALL my Pullets/Hens and then some today.... money talks

Congrats on your sale.
I had a chance to stop by Donna's today. The pics dont do justice to the BLRW or the splash. Beautiful birds Donna.

I will go look next week about the cabinet. I am in no rush to get them since we have EVERYTHING else still to do

I HATE the work with remodeling. Maybe building from scratch will be easier. Hoping we can hire it ALL done for the new house so I can just supervise between collecting eggs and feeding everyone.

I never did get to collect eggs in the back. Just got his birds and then we left

I am so tired.....

They guy I waited on is coming back for more in a few months. He used to have 100 layers. I fox wiped him out this last time. I think I will have more by then

Hey folks... I sure do miss being more involved in this thread.
I am doing well, but I must say I sorely miss my chickens/turkey and I hate not having them to observe and talk about here.
On a side note though, the First Lady and myself celebrated our 11th anniversary yesterday by dumping the kiddos on their Aunt and riding down the Natchez Trace. We had a ton of fun! Here's a link to our Wal-mart photo album of our pics.
