The Middle Tennessee Thread

Just an FYI I put some birds on CL..... Splash Laced Red Roo (from hatching eggs from CA) EE roo and 2 EE pullets, Several Wheaten Am Roos, some NH roos (NOT GNH) ...... I have not had time to find all my pullets I am going to sell, but I am selling ALL my Olive Eggers Roo and pullets (I have someone that has dibs first) AND all my Lavender Pullets (not breeders, just yard candy) I know I have about 6 maybe more I may keep a couple but that is it. I would not be surprised if I have more younger pullets, but I just have not had time to go through them.

I need to do another sort myself and thin down some more. I am getting happier all the time with what I am keeping.

I think I am going to take Vicki's advice..... and just CULL HARD! REALLY HARD. Anything I don't like is going so I can see some big improvement. Not sure I can get rid of all the dark eyes yet, but I am going to try, but I think they will be the ones laying the darkest eggs

I'm curious how the egg production is in the RLBW you are working on.
Do you have any numbers on how yours lay?...I've seen a few other website say they are not great egg producers...
(anyone else w/ some want to put in their 2cents on that?)

I just adore the look of them (doesn't everyone) so I was considering a few basically as eye-candy in my layer flock
(have other projects, _not_ going there on trying to work w/ breeding laced birds)
but everyone has to pay'their way at my homestead & I think I'm going to have to settle for something more dull for my high egg production flock (?sigh)

Just working on finishing up the diy 'bator and dreaming about all the possibilities (yah, haven't even hatched yet & I know I've got it BAD, totally hooked)
