Can you move her to a separate pen for a few days? ANYTHING dog crate? Try that for a few days.... move her back and forth till she breaks. The changes will make her give up.... usually

Yeah I can move her to our smaller coop, she loves going in there anyway.....thanks!

Oh, interesting; I did not know that either! I have 1 Maran from my NYDH, a pullet (she is looking really nice, I've very excited to see what she will lay) had not considered her going broody at any point...so many breeds, so much to learn, so nice to have ya'll here on BYC to get great info (& chickens even) from!

Also, hello new ppl :)

Looks like Springfield area has taken the lead in folks w/ chickens, obviously the rest of use will need to urgently do chicken math in order to keep up ; >

I AM doing my part on that even now, I have 24 eggs in LD in hatcher, 45 (yah overloaded) in the Bator, half a doz awaiting bator space,
& I'll admit to ah 13+3+5 in brooders in the bathroom/laundry rm atm.

Anyone else?

German NH, Black Eng Orps, Tolbunt Polish and a bunch of mine too. I have orders for wheaten chicks coming out my ears! OH yeah I have to set those too..... maybe 150 eggs.

I know my numbers are very small time, but the funny part is when you say it , it means the exact opposite of when my DH says it ; >

Also, I only have 1 person wanting 6 EE chicks so, better I stay at numbers that do not over-alarm the DH...

Anyone looking for a Black Australorp Cockerell? I just joined BYC. I live in Rockvale, TN. Dec 31, 2012 I hatched 7 Black Australorp chicks. Two are Roos. They are 12 weeks old now. I would like to sell one of the Roos. They are very sweet. I handle them a lot. I bought 12 chicks from TSC & COOP also. They are 6 weeks old. One is an Australorp Cockerell. I'll use him the next breeding time to add new genes to the next hatch. I was very happy with my Brinsea Incubator. 100% hatch in December.
