The Middle Tennessee Thread

I contacted the Cane Creek Park located here in Cookeville & we are allowed to bring our chickens as long as we have cages with us

not sure who handles all of this but just wanted to post the information!

I'm the one working on the C'Ville one..that would be perfect.I'm thinking in June since I'm booked in May other than the Mid Tenn get together being my only free weekend day all Month

Reeses is having a picnic in the living room grapes and water-a chickens life

Holly- Why exactly is Reeses hanging out in your living room eating a snack? Did she become an inside chicken?

Doing the Murfreesboro meetup in the afternoon that Sunday is cool. It is staying light for a while these days. Y'all pick where you want to hook up. I'm game for anything. Trish- you are super nice to offer your house. Does it screw up your NPIP to have all of us tromping around?

CityGirl-She's a pet

and loved by a little boy

so she takes a break from being a real chicken-oh wait she's a silkie so she's not even that and she gets a trip to the house where she comes in and stays on a blanket-it wouldn't be a picnic without one and then she has her snacks and a drink before she tries to wander off.She does get griping some though when she's not allowed to free range in the house at will may need to invest in some diapers but then he would never let them out again

I have a slight feeling she and Cutie-a black cochin roo chick will be real happy to see the baby bunnies get here next week

Morning all! Still having sporadic computer issues here, but it looks like it's working enough for me to hop on here and cause trouble.

Looks like we're in for more funky weather today! Everyone be careful out on the roads today if you have to be out.

I'm glad to hear a new meet is cooking! (sad pun intended) I am open as far as dates go - - please speak up if you need help organizing, etc. A park that would allow critters sounds like a good deal.

CityGirl, I am so glad you got to trek up to NYC! Hope you are having a great time! I am living vicariously through you and your travels.

I'd better get back outside and get some straw in the pens before the rain gets worse. Y'all have a good day, and stay dry!

I am willing to leave my shoes on the porch or bringing disinfectant if Trish is okay with us and NPIP will accept it.

I'll get some pictures of Reeses next time she has a picnic...have family blowing in tomorrow night...anyone want company?

I'm looking for some bunnies...Jersey Wooly, Lionhead or "bantam" lop that just sounds better than dwarf if anyone knows of any give me a yell. Will consider any other bantam bunnies as long as they can tolerate sharing a picnic with a chicken or two.
Just got home from Cookeville..right near my house a huge old tree had fallen across the road...thankfully our road is a loop so we could turn around and go in the back way...or I would still be waiting on someone with a chainsaw.
Tomorrow is April 16th I know many of us remember that date...thankful this is all we are having for weather but still time for the storms to stop.My birdies I had out are under heat lamps drying off right now..30 wet chickens are almost as bad as 1 wet dog

Holly! My weather alert radio just went off - there's a severe thunderstorm with winds up to 70mph about to hit Lebanon!!! Are you battened down?
Blessings - y'all stay safe!

All is fine here.I'm as far North of Lebanon as you can get and still be here and in Wilson Co..we watch for Trousdale County more.It was pretty strong though but through here really quick. We have found a spot in the drainage system on the chick house needing to be tweaked but the puddle inside is much smaller than what it would be without it.
Tomorrow all the cochin's can go out to play in the mud and when they are done I won't be able to tell one from another...just can't resist the big puddles but kids will be kids:hugs
