Thank you, thank you, thank you. Ive had complete strangers offer to help rebuild. And all of ya'll offering me birds. Even with my losses I'm blessed. Not everyone can say that someone cares even though they barely know you. I can! You've Truely restored a lot of my faith in humanity.

I've got a lone hatch chick -- very tiny,
I thought it was a LF pullet egg, but the chick is SO small I'm thinking it maybe was a banty egg?? (not from my flock).
the egg was mint green so this will be an EE or OE of some sort.

I'm hoping to find 1-2 small chicks this Sat, at the Poultry show in Dalton GA so my chick isn't alone.
Do any of you on this thread know of suitable chicks which will or could be taken there sat. that I could arrange for DH to pick up?

I'm not picky on breed of chick, I just need a couple (small/young) buddies so J doesn't died of loneliness...

Thanks for any info.

This used to be my coop.
How 4 of my chickens managed to survive is beyond me. Guess God likes chickens too.

WOW.... I don't know how they survived that either.

I am pretty sure that a tornado was forming over our house. There is really no damage anywhere else around here. The tornado that hit MT Juliet was the same cell that was going over our house. Just didn't touch down here. I have a few pics on my phone from this morning. BUT we didn't get to drive down our street it was blocked off. We found out why when we came home. Would not surprise me if we lost power again since there are still trees on the lines down the road.

That chick sure looks lavender to me. Could you have gotten some Lavender Ameraucana eggs? They are rather small.....

Oh, very possibly so, I didn't realize Lavender Ameraucana were small.
I think the person I got them from did or does have a Lav Ame project, but I thought these were just LF barnyard mix eggs.

(My EE hen is big & Black Ame. Roo is huge so I thought they were gen. big)

I was hoping a couple of the Jumbo eggs (Orps x & SFH x) would hatch but no dice on those, just the 1 smallest egg made it.

It would be pretty ironic if I end up w/ a nice Lav. Ame pullet. wow, just wow...

Hey Donna....had a cell go over my house and lots of branches down and trees, but no real damage...EXCEPT now I can't find the BLRW Roo, he is missing....so sad!!!!

OH NO!!!!. Maybe he will find his way back home.... that is sad. If he does not show in a day or two let me know. I will see what I can find.

We didn't have any damage at the farm.

So sorry for your lose i am in tears at the sight of your coop i am a softy and my chickens are like my children. I have 3 roos u can choose from or have all 3 One Colored Dorking A Columbian Wyndotte X and a Black Copper Maran X with out the feathered feet. and will have BBred Phoenix hatching in a few weeks that we can spare a few of if your interested. We are all praying for you and yours.

When i first went out this morning i saw the coop tore up, went to look. Saw a dead chicken under the tree. Looked around but didnt see any others. I thought they were all under the tree. About an hour later I saw my sons dog after something under a tree. It was my slw. She was so far gone I dispatched her quickly. I came back up to the house & a few minutes later i saw a hen in what used to be the run. I went to get her & another was crossing the yard on my way back to the house. I grabbed her too. Put both of them in the storage room on my deck & went to get the dog crate. About 10 minutes later I saw another crossing the yard, heading twards the coop. I grabbed her put her in with the other two. My friend down the road called & needed some help so i headed that way. Before I got out of my driveway my wife called & said the dog found another one. Got back to find JW my roo. Then i did a seriously through search & found the last one dead behind the coop. All that to say you never know where they'll turn up. Praying for your roo & everyone who has damage or lost birds.
