-Man my size has no chance of hideing any where. have just about finished incubation room in barn no more indoors I'll set those Cuckoo eggs 0n the 22nd Finally saw the new Black Copper taking care of business yesterday..Supposed to have cold snap next week should be able to track incubator temp then start hatching for 2 or three months.

Yes ticks and moles already I have ( well I should say I had ) a big fat mole that was just cuttin the rug across my back yard. I got him yesterday if anyone has mole problems I have found some awesome traps that work. 

Don't be holding out on the mole killing apparatus. I've got em bad, only thing that serms to work so far is my sons stupid dog. Killing moles is about all he's good for, so dumb he don't even know his name. Anyhow type away bout these secret mole killers, I'm ready for anything.

5 hours and 30 minutes later I have my new bator thrown together. Just have to apply a little stain and sealer and make some plexi glass doors. My fan and heater will fit in the center underneath of the center facer. This should make things real easy when it comes to candling.

Hello all. My mother is about to join the backyard chicken ranks and is dragging me with her. Well, not really. I'm always on board when it comes to new pets. These will be pets and egg layers. I know she only needs hens but I've read that hens are calmer with a rooster. Also the roosters are so cute. However the thought of fertilized eggs kind of makes everyone here sick so we were thinking a capon. Can you buy a pet capon in middle Tennessee? Maybe there is a caponizer out there with an immaculate record? Right now we are just working on coop plans but trying to think ahead. I like the idea of a rooster, but will do without if we need to.

I will be building a new bator, a double turner side by side unit. This will give my fumble fingers easy access from above rather then trying to reach back deep in between the trays. Should hold a more even temp than stacked trays. I will still be able to set 82 eggs and start doing staggered hatches with a separate hatcher. If anyone is interested in the build I'll take notes I could also build them to order, naturally I will need to do some test runs first but the mad scientist side of me seems to think it'll work. Also this will be kept in doors most of the time and will look like a piece of furniture when completed. I plan to do all my assembly with pocket holes and wood glue. I'll take plenty of picks as I go wish me luck.

chicklet that is awesome! Please put me down to receive the building instructions. My only problem is the electrical part as I am completely ignorant and afraid of electrical wireing! I do wonder if that much open glass/plexi will make temp regulation a problem. Especially as in the flucations of room temp. Don't know anything about that just wondering. That is the best and most attractive design I have seen. Can't wait til;l the test runs are done. If I can figure out the wireing I think even I could make one like that. Thanks for the pics.
