I don't find the other one.... but it is similar to this one. It keeps records of the Highs and lowest high and Lows and the Lowest lows.... you can reset all that, it keep a record of the humidity too. It has a probe connected to it and it keeps inside temps and outside.... I forget the humidity if it is inside or out.... anyway

Guys I think I'm gonna break down and get a decent thermometer with a NIST- certificate. I can't stand not knowing where my temps are exactly. Some of them are very expensive but would save you a ton of money in the long run with the great hatch rates. Here are a few I found some are are accurate plus or minus to 0.4 degrees that's pretty darn good.

I have digital a thermostats that are at least that accurate..... I think more so and it only cost $15-20. Seems the swing in temps can be adjusted to .2 can't remember for sure. But a swing of 1-1.5 degree is not going to effect your hatch. My thermometers are pretty accurate.

I am also of the theory that chickens are not as accurate at hatching as we are and they do just fine. Cooler incubators will just have a slower hatch, they will take longer to hatch. A warmer hatch will hatch early. I think a higher temp for any period of time is most likely to kill you hatch, cooler is better than hotter for sure.

Welcome MayDayMel neighbor -I'm from Hopkinsville. I wish I saw your post a week ago -just got rid of my RIR chicks for free. Love the BR's. They remind me of my 7 year old human son. They're so expresive and want your attention all the time. Just a word of advice: Don't turn your back on them and bend down in their coop, cause they'll jump on your back (not to hurt you, though) -that's how friendly they are.

Most of them read in tenths of a degree but how do know if the reading is accurate. You say 1-1.5 degrees in swing is not much I agree but if your thermo for your heat source is off 1.5 to the high side already and you take a reading with a thermo that is 1.5 to the low and make adjustments you have now added 3 degrees to your bator. You can't be sure of anythings accuracy with out the proper test equipment that is what the NIST certification is for.

I wish I had known lol, I would have give the RIR a home as it is my hands are full, but thinking tomorrow I may add 2 RIR pullets to the batch. Don't think the mystery chick is gonna hold up

My hands are pretty full now, too, but I'm getting more from Rural King (Madisonville and Powderly will be getting in a new shipment this week) and Tractor Supply (should be getting in next week). We call everyday, cause they sell out quick. I can't help myself. In the process of building two more hoop coops to fit them all. Half of them will be roosters, some will die, and then I can be picky with the rest -get rid of what I don't like. The Amish will always take the extra roosters.

My TSC got chicks last week. All sexed pullets except the mixed bantams.

It's so much nicer when they're sexed pullets. I bought some in Clarksville -not much of a selection. Springfield, TN was all out when I called. I even checked out Evansville, IN.

That's what's nice about living near the border of TN. TN got their chicks first. Now I can get more in KY.
