The Middle Tennessee Thread

Finally had the roo man take all 8 of my buff bantam brahma roos and 3 hens (he wouldn't without some hens.) That was really hard for me - I guess I don't do real well with this farming thing, but the birds I have are totally loved. I did keep 4 brahma hens and a bantam mille fleur roo. If anyone ever has any bantam d'uccle hens - please let me know. Simon will be happy with the brahma's, but I'd like to have d'uccle hens.

ok one more

you know it is hot when.....

you pick up a chicken and she flaps her wings.....and you make her do it a couple of more times before you put her down LOL

can you tell I was moving birds today haha. I will admit it was not as bad as it has been. I needed more ice tea than I had. very thirsty still.

Hey Folks! Long time no talk to.... So many newbies since I've regulared in here!

Anyhew- Some of you know and some don't that I work for a metal roofing manufacturer by Lavergne ( close to what used to be starwood amphitheatre). We are gearing up for our annual inventory and are selling at way discounted prices our "oops" metal roofing so that we don't take a total loss. We have some that is 3' wide and some that is 2' wide in several colors and bare finishes. If you need or want some metal roof for your coops please send an email to me at work [email protected] and let me know the size of roof you are trying to cover and I'll tell you what I have to fit your project. Some of it is as cheap as .25 a square foot. We have about 3 weeks to sell it all off or take the hit.
I also have a specials list that is available year round but not as cheap as these panels will go for.

Help me get rid of my problems.

Sam text me tomorrow! I am using my phone and it may not be smart enough to send an email from byc. I am thinking about getting new roofing out back. that used stuff is leaking like crazy with the holes. I will have to get some dimensions. it is about 4 feet wide and 40-50 feet long. mix and match is fine with me.

I have this
2-1/2" corrugated 26 gauge brown panels. This lot has 9 panels @ 3' and 22 @ 4'.

That's a 2' wide panel. It's enough to do 44' at 4' and 18' at 3'. If you cut and lap them it will probably do it. It's 115.00 + tax (roughly 125.64) and It's 26 ga. better than the market standard of 29 ga. Works out to .55 cents a sq. ft.
Here's a link to our web page about this panel.

I'll txt you tomorrow to see if you want it. DH can come pick it up between 7 and 3 m-f, or I can have it delivered on fridays for 150.00 delivery fee.
Thanks!

I live in Murfreesboro, Tn and I am new to keeping chickens. We started this year with 12 and have dwindled down due to our dog to only 6. They dang chickens keep flying in his pen and then of course he eats them! I have 3 white leghorns and 3 red sex links. They are all 5 mos. old. My leghorns are great layers, but my RSL's have not yet started to lay. I wanted chickens just to lay eggs, I do not want to breed or sell. I have 5 kids, believe me I need the eggs lol. Anyway, my girls cannot stay out of trouble, so I am thinking of adding a roo, just for protection and to kinda keep them all together. They are free- range and tend to go in the neighbors yard, the woods, ect. Anyone have a roo they would like to give away that is less than 5 mos. old? Preferably a nice one...

I would try netting the top of your dog pen so the chickens can't get into him. I do have a red Olive Egger roo that sis shceduled for dinner ecause he is slightly more aggressive than I laike. He doesn't attac peopple but he is a bet of a bully to younger chickens , especially rival roos.
