The Middle Tennessee Thread

I live in the Leanna area of Murfreesboro, close to Walter Hill. I would like to meet you somewhere if possible. If not you can private message me your address and I will come out to your house. Am I right about a roo offering protection to my girls and kinda keeping them together? I want the nicest one you have lol.

Marans are a bloody lot....like Anne I have had up to 10 at a time in my Marans pen....they are thinning out some....well they were but I seem to find more and more in the nest box everyday......I have lots and lots of pullets and hens too.
What pullets do you have? On second thought I would be interested in any pullets in any breed

black copper Marans mostly. I have some laying blue rock pullets (not for breeding they were from a project cross) I have some Marans hens too.

Yes Marans are a broody breed. I have 3 BCM and all 3 are broody atm. My BO is a super mom. She raised 3 batches last year and 1 this year so far. And I have 2 of 5 olive eggers {maran X easter egger that went broody this year. My cochin has never in 3 years gone broody. I have never had an EE blue egg layer go broody either. I have 8 of them.

I am thinking about selling my Echequer flock and wonder if there is any interest here on the thread. I have 8 hens and a roo. Would like to not split them up but would sell 4 of the hens seperate if need be.
On broody Marans I have a BCM sitting and just had a Blue Copper hen hatch 3 peachicks!
