Donna are you at the farm today? I'm out that way & thought maybe is stop by if I / you have time. Can't stay ling I'm supposed to be at work. Insert smiley saying shhhh here
those are heritage Good Shepard barred rocks. if your others are hatchery you may not want to breed them together. there is a work of difference in the birds. GSBR are breed for their meat so taste is a big deal with him. size would be another thing.....my roo is the size of a turkey. the barring is different on my birds too. I personally would not mix them with any other barred rocks......but they will be yours.
I hope you have a good hatch....2 doz eggs should get a good number of chicks.
Is that what I got too Donna?
yes I sure did I got 6 and you said some will be black and some bluedid you get brown eggs with a br? then yes.

I'll look it up. I'm upset because he's so sweet and I don't want him to become someone's dinner. I'm calling up my chicken friends to try and find him a new home before he starts crowing and my neighbors start to hate me.strange thing about Easter eggers......if you know how you can sex them at hatch. there is a thread that shows you how. anytime you see red on the wings and not on the breast too....they are roos.
I think the these is call Easter Egger sexing tips and tricks or something like that.
It happens....I've had 3 "pullets" that started crowing. All 3 were from different sources and were of different breeds. I was able to find homes for all 3 though so that was good.**** it! I was told that it was "definitely a pullet" when I got her.....er...I mean him.Anyone need a PET rooster?????![]()
