The Middle Tennessee Thread

Hi,
I am new on here, but not new to chickens. In fact, my cochin went broody 2 days ago and I am looking for some orpington hatching eggs to put under her. If any of you know where I can get some, please let me know. I live close to Pleasant View.

Hi!

My children and I just built our first chicken pen/coop. Its so exciting. We hv 4 chickens and a rooster. 3 of the chickens and the rooster we actually incubated and hatches last year. My mother in law has had them. My 4 year old wanted to bring them home. We took her old play house and turned it into the coop. Its too cute. We live east of Portland TN. We hv 1 hen setting with 2
Eggs. So exciting. Wish us luck!!!
Congratulations….and welcome to the thread. My sister in law converted her old play house and added a run, its the cutest thing ever!

When I talked to him a couple of months ago he had sold ALL his started birds he was going to sell. We talked about how he did birds and eggs..... he is similar to what I do. He hatches out in the spring.... keeps some for his pens and grows some out to sell as started birds. Then he sells his breeders in the fall while they are still young. You can always ask but if he has some they are probably no older than what you are going to get from me.
So true….and with Donna you can see the bird first and Donna has the healthiest birds I've ever gotten….. the ones I got from Poultry House was when I was just starting and didn't know I could get chickens from this thread…..I just told her what I wanted and was told I couldn't come there but she would bring me one to Bonnie's. I took them and like I said, one was good one wasn't.

Anyone know of a business in the Murfreesboro area willing to give away a few used wooden pallets? I don't know where people get their pallets. I can't find a single place so far that doesn't ship the pallets back to the warehouse.
I work at a grocery store in shelbyville we can't take the blue chef pallets but we can on the others I actually have a couple behind the garage right now.

I DON'T let people come to the farm anymore. Mostly for a BIO SECURITY THING.

I had someone email from one of my ads. My ads say where I will meet people. She wanted to know if I ever came to Franklin. Only when I get feed I told her. She told me her days off and I told her I get feed on Wednesday.... that is when the feed truck comes (I buy 2500lbs of feed) and after that I was was the bad guy for not working with her! I DON'T DELIVER BIRDS. If I can meet someone somewhere that helps them I will but I can't make special trips. I don't think Bonnie would like to hold onto $600 worth of feed till I can meet someone for birds....

Point well made…..can't believe she wanted you to deliver!
