Wow...that's a shame. Several years ago I had the same thing happen. Box of dead chicks. It's not a pleasant thing to deal with. Sorry....

All that work for nothing I get the call this morning my chicks are at the post office get there the guy walks with the box and says they are all dead. I thought he was just messing with me but no. I am upset with whoever did the packing I called two days before they shipped and told them how cold it was gonna be and the women said you have 50 they should be fine. There was only a thin layer of the straw on the bottom of the box that's it.So I called and the women I spoke to was very nice and took care of me have another batch shipping out next week. Great customer service on her end just a little ****** about the packing and now I have 50 dead chicks to dispose of, and a jumbo empty brooder.

wow, that really sux!!! Thats why I haven't gotten any chix yet, too cold out!! So sorry for the loss, poor, poor chickies!!

Yea I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I woke up today then it killed the buzz.
They took care of me so I am not to upset with the company but I feel bad the all 50 died.

That is so sad. Sorry you have to go through that.

I will say this, I may have but the post office has rules about the temps on both ends..... they shouldn't have shipped them. Poor chicks had to pay they price for someone being careless.

Sorry! That is very unpleasant. What hatchery if you don't mind saying? Personally I haven't ordered from a hatchery in several yrs, but I have 3x ordered from McMurry it was a warmer time of yr granted, and they are a little higher cost than some, but I never had a dead bird on arrival.

Sure if you want your pay in CHICKENS and EGGS!
You have so many nice bird I'm sure lots of ppl would be your assistant for eggs/birds.

I think it was someone named like red ridge or something that had the HRIR..... she also has Rhodebars and was going to improve them with her HRIR.

It is ideal poultry, to be honest I am upset about the chicks but the customer service was great from the women I talked to today. She seemed mad about the lack of straw in the box she said that they are supposed to base how they pack the boxes on the weather for where they are being shipped to.

So my first time ordering chicks was a bust :(

That's awful….I've had them shipped before, but only 3 at a time, and never had a problem…..but then it was more like April and much warmer this winter has been brutal.
