Hi there! I've been signed up on BYC for like a year, but I haven't said anything (which is AMAZING for me - ask anybody I know! LOL) My question is...is anyone going to have RIR pullets who are "Coop Ready" in a few weeks to sell? We really don't want to mess with chicks to restart our coop, but we also have no problem getting hens that are not yet laying. I've got my DH so hooked into my chicken world now that he actually said,"Honey, if you get them a little bit younger, they will socialize with their Chicken Mommy that much more." (BTW...if anyone here knows him, I will deny that I just told everybody that! He'd kill me! LOL) We will need a young RIR roo too...I know they can be mean and territorial, but I'll take my chances. The last auction we went to the poultry prices were ridiculous! I refuse to pay $20 a head for a chicken! (It was seriously that much!)

I'm not completely bent on RIR if something fabulous comes along. I grew up with those, and I know they are hardy birds and awesome layers!

We live about 45 minutes North of Nashville. :)

I am getting ready to put RIR crosses in the bater if you don't have any by the time they are big enough for a coop I might have extras to sell. Crossed with a GLW
