Trust me, I haven't fed mine for 3 years and can't get rid of the darn things. ROFL

I don't mind. They don't eat much when they can free range. Maybe a bag of feed every 2-3 weeks and since I can sell the keet and eggs they pay for themselves. That is really all I ask of my chickens is they pay for themselves. I don't put any of my money out on chickens. No money left for me either but maybe that will come.

Yep, those are the type my great-uncle had - the stuff of my nightmares.

The ironic thing is when they reach that kind of size they can no longer successfully raise piglets on their own. They crush them accidentally when they are born.

I have two guineas but I would like 5-6 more my male has found my chrome bumper on my truck and has been pecking the crap out of it lol. We live in the woods so I spend wAy to much every year trying to kill bugs...

I don't have styrofoam around my birds. If it is not food grade it could kill them. I read a thread once about some birds that were bored and they suggest styrofoam she did it but didn't think about it being FG and it killed her birds.

I have some pool noodles around my yard, no pool though- go figure. Anyway, my chickens got to them and ate them nearly up before anyone noticed. Its been a few days and nobody has been sick or died thank goodness! I was scared though. I also am using the Styrofoam cartons for hatching

Would anyone be interested in supplying 30 to 40 hatching eggs for a school hatching project (free or discounted)? This would be for the Kindergarteners in a Nashville Public school. No specific breeds in particular, since they will just be learning about the lifecycle not specifics of the breeds yet. Last year the teacher that heads this up just purchased the eggs off Craigslist, but I thought I would reach out to the good folks on here. So if anyone has any hatching eggs they want to part with please PM me and I can set up getting them to the teacher/school (or put you in touch with her).

Just did.
My sister is a principal, so I set up my bator at her school yesterday with a bunch of Rhodebar eggs in it - they were the only ones still in a breeding pen but I have been eating the eggs since I want planning on more RB this season.

So... I guess I will have more Rhodebars in 3 weeks if anyone wants any. The hatches from this trio have been easily 100% autosexable.
