So, I've got chicks hatching right now. Would it be alright for me to place these newbies in the brooder with the 3 week old chicks I presently have in there? They are 3 weeks old today?

Anyone have experience with an egg eating chicken? I've suspected that one or more were eating eggs because with 11 pullets/hens I'm lucky to get 2-3 eggs a day. Today I found 2 partial egg shells in the nest box & 1 hen with what appears to be yolk on her face. I plan to crate her for a day or two & see if my production picks up. If it does can she be reintroduced? Or will she still try to eat eggs? If so can she be broke ?
HUM..... I think I have one in the WL pen too. I find my eggs covered with sand and have to clean the nest box all the time. At first I thought someone was laying a soft shell egg.... no I think it is retaliation and they don't like her or something.
Rehab..... maybe. Do you have one of those ceramic eggs? They can't break them so she may try try try and then give up all together but you would have to pen her for several weeks till she stops. Just because you found egg on her does not mean she did it. They will all jump in when there is FREE egg to eat LOL.

The girl you THINK is eating eggs keep her separate and give her the ceramic egg.
