We only live once. Get one in every color make and model, ahh, I mean one in every variety and breed. Such a small cost for so much joy.

Lol! True, however when one has as many chickens as we do, you have to force yourself to have "tunnel vision" when it comes to all the fluffy sweet cuteness. Plus, I already have a big order of White Leghorns, turkeys, and guineas coming in April on top of the Dark Cornish hatching eggs I have incoming from a breeder next week for my meaties project and the Lav Orp eggs coming the week after... Though I do have a big load of birds going to the sale next month... Daggumit, y'all have got me wondering what we have coming to the CO-OP and TSC now... Only if it's something super unique or rare.... I mean, how could you not get some of those, right?

A friend of mine's local CO-OP got their chicks in early. She scored a gorgeous little lavender Ameraucana. I've got so many eggs in the incubators, I'm having to force myself to stay away from farm stores. Lol!

NO WAY! Are you sure? Lavender? They don't sell Amerucanas they sell EE! I have NEVER SEE PURE BREED AM's at a feed store.

No matter I feel a trip to Clarksville coming! Dang what is the name of that farm store.... RURAL KING! I would like some nice EE. They had some really pretty ones.

That's exactly what I said, but looking at the pics she sent me, it's got all the "hallmarks" of a pure AM. She's down toward Lynchburg. I'll see if I can find the pic, see what you think.

I had to come on here and find out Rural King has chicks already! My husband will kill me. Clarksville Rural King usually has a decent selection but generally its late March or early April before they get a huge selection. Or so I'm telling myself. But I could just take a quick look next time I'm over on that side of town maybe. You never know what you might find. I saw a Sicilian Buttercup there last year and had to have her just because I'd never seen on in person before. She has a cute little circle comb just like a crown and gets on fine with the silkies. They occasionally get unexpected breeds in but no rhyme or reason to when that I've ever seen. Last year they used to get chicks in on Wednesday and Friday- not sure about this year's schedule.

IDK if they have chicks... let me know when you go! LOL I want pretty blue and cream/light red chipmunk striped chicks.... that is all I want... well maybe some Leghorns. Always good to grab some WL. They get them a hatchery you never hear anyone talk about... can't think of the name. I snagged a BUNCH of chick shipping boxes.... FREE. I don't think I will ever ship 100 chicks in them. They are good for taking to small animal sales.

I got Sicilian Buttercups at Rural King in Clarksville last year. I haven't even been there to look this year yet. Since I live in Clarksville, I go fairly often and usuallyt find in later March through April they have the largest selection. It did not do me much good to call ahead, they didn't seem to know what they were getting ahead of time. Last year I have seen the sicilan buttercups, salmon faverole, silkies, welsummers, and a lot of other not so common hatchery breeds but sometimes you go in and all they have is leghorns, rhode island reds and black sex link.

Moore County I believe. I'm pretty sure she said they were at the Lynchburg CO-OP.
