Sept. meet up sounds great. Would love to see all the chickens! But I can't bring any home. maybe if I tell myself that enough times it will work.

Those lops are cute

Yes,we will have some lops next year.We can't breed the girls until Sept then the first litter can't be to our lop buck or we will loose the kits...huge heads. So the first cross will be to one of the other bucks for some funny bunnies..will be cuddle pets that may lop. The Mini Rex are working on babies right now

I have 53 black chicks in one brooder..looks like a black blanket in there. And to think I was almost chick free earlier this week.Another brooder has about 30 chicks and I have another waiting.17 of the blacks are not mine but I get to try to keep them alive in this heat until Sat.

Okay, my TN friends. I need your prayers and happy thoughts.
Short back story- I was not offered tenure at MTSU (long story/ very political). I need a new job. I technically can go back to school until May 2012, but the people that voted me off the island were really, really hateful about it (lied, cheated, etc) and the thought of having to work with them for another year makes me want to throw up. I need a different job sooner rather than later.

My dream job is working for the co-op. I want them to create an educational outreach position for me. Tomorrow morning I am calling the general manager to try and set up an appointment to go see him. I am scared silly to cold call this man. Yes, it's irrational, but I'm still nervous. While I would be GREAT in this position, I'm not that great at selling myself. I know the worst that can happen is that he will turn me down, but I really, really want this job to happen. Arg.

Sooooo... please pray for courage. And that he will agree to talk to me so I can present this proposal. And, of course, that he will agree to let me have a go.

I need a job with a decent salary and health benefits. Please pray that something will come through.

Thanks!

Oh, and I have marans babies hatching in there! Tomorrow is due day, but I have 5 out and another pipped. There are 6 more eggs so hopefully I will get a few more out of them. Yay!

Praying for you, Citigirl - lots of prayers and happy thoughts. I sure hope things work out for you. I think an educational outreach position at the Co-op would be wonderful. When I go to the Franklin Co-op, they haven't seemed to know much about poultry.

Question for the Middle TN folks: Where do you buy your poultry supplies? Online? TSC? Co-Op?
