Wow now I can say I learned something today Okla thanks!
I would have thought they would be born with eyes shut like rabbits and most of the others instead those huge eyes are all bright and ready to go and born with hair..you sure they were born today
They are beautiful
but NO I don't want any before you ask
Emmalyn-I have 3 mottled chicks and ready to eat some unsuspecting Silkie rooster that apparently does a little less hiding sometime and a little more recreational fun than we have ever suspected..he won't even crow for pete sake and 5 chicks
There is one or two eggs left I stuck in the bator since she has her wings full now.The silkies are getting booted out of the pen since they can't behave and in a few weeks I'm going to set more now I have sold all but the very best hens.1 of the cochin chicks had a smashed egg not a bit of shell left so I was going to toss it..shrink wrapped and hard as a rock when I saw a tiny movement from it's beak..poor baby..those darn hens can be so rough on the kids.Took it in the house gave it a warm soak and out popped a cutie that doesn't seem any worse for such horrible treatment..tomorrow it will go back with momma hen.
