Saturday is best for me and maybe we could meet in Lebanon if that is not too far or out of the way for you. I can't remember where you are coming from. What ever time works for you will work for me.
OK you 2 I have lost 3 chicks about 3 weeks of age because of the waterers. I now use quail waterers. That just seems like such an unnecessary lose to me. My Showgirls are usually up and running shortly after they dry off, so I think they are very sturdy chicks. I am not saying you are wrong but YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Quail waterer 1.50 my showgirls freaking worth well more than 1.50 not to mention the quilt I felt and how sad I was to see it.
LOve you 2 either way!
I have glass beads in all the little guys waterers just in case. I have nipples in the brooder so the water will go away soon they are using them and have been since the got in the brooder.
my last 3 were dead in the eggs. so the hatcher is off. i put my sick chick in with the others but in a cage. splinted her leg and left her for several hours and she still can't walk, or really even move with the splint. She was more mobile without it.
Any other suggestions for my chick? She has one leg out to the side and the is under her. Both legs work, she can move them and move her toes. Just can't stand but she flops around really well with those wings I hot glued her food and water to the basket she is in. there is a towel so she can get some traction.
BTW the eggs I had in the incubator that got turned off, they are ALL alive and well!!!!!
Ok the chic should be able to walk in the hobbles.
This is exactly how I do mine and if it is spraddle leg this should work. http://scrummycupcake.wordpress.com/2011/01/14/easy-hobbles-for-chicks-with-splay-legs/
Time is of essence here. THe longer she is spraddled the less likely it is she will recover.
If you want me to call send me your number. I am worried at this point. Add sugar to the water of elyctrolytes/ gaterade.
excuse the spelling here I am just trying to give advise ASAP!
Crossing my fingers for you and the baby.

Your are too sweet. Thanks for the help! Vet tape and Gatorade will do!!! Should I force some water in her? I have not seen her eat or drink really. She is very cute and I would hate to lose her. She would be an olive egger and she is black so all the more special to me
I was wondering if anyone has ever been to Tim and Susie's Henhouse in Kentucky (to the small animal swap meet) and if so , how did you like it.....we were thinking about going on Saturday....wondering if it will be worth the drive....
