Today I sent myself the link to the candy and nuts she's selling online...the selection is twice as good as what we offer local sales so I'm ordering all of mine online...Just doesn't seem fair

My last chicks are all hatched and in the brooder 1 Mille Cochin and 1 black mottled Cochin...now for a break until mid winter

OK it's mostly forced my hens are molting

Oh Chicken math...85 chicks eat a lot and the price of corn

means the price of feed

Right now I'm glad rabbit feed doesn't have corn in it..it's staying the same price.Now my horse feed is close to $40 a hundred for my old horse..oh man don't let him ever hear I said that

While I am technically in Kentucky (on the state line!), I work and am in Tennessee most of the time, in the Cookeville area.

I raise Silver Duckwing and BBR Phoenix, as well as Black and Blue Sumatra. I will have select chicks and young adults (from late summer/fall hatch) available in the spring.

My beautiful Marans Rooster went to a new home over the weekend where he can terrorize others.I'm not going to have my kids carry around a stick to keep the rooster off them no matter how pretty he is.Now,it's so peaceful out there.

It was Moron.I hated doing it I really liked him a lot but he spurred the kids and got me once drawing blood even after all the attempts to rehab him to a good roo.He has a home now where he's the only rooster with 12 hens and plenty of place to free range. It's so quiet here now without him.He's not crowing and no one is yelling for help

I have a solid black boy of yours that is going to be hugemongous when he's grown..he's one of those babies I got from you this summer.I have lots of ideas for him by Spring

I'm going to have more Marans Roos than I know what do do with..oh wait I do know what to do with them...baby chicks!I have most of the pretty colors now..blue copper,splash blue copper,blue cuckoo,black copper and black...all they need to do is grow up.
