I went to my two oldest grandkids' classrooms to volunteer this morning. When I went into Sophie's 3rd grade classroom, her teacher asked her if she wanted to show me what they had. Sophie said, "Sure" and led me into an empty classroom across the hall where there was an INCUBATOR filled with brown eggs! I thought that was really cool! I taught for over 30 years and had hamsters and tadpoles in the classroom, we raised butterflies and had an aquarium, but I never incubated eggs. At lunch I asked Sophie what they were going to do with the chicks after they hatched, and she said they'd give them to somebody who could take care of them. Then she brightened up and said, "You could have some of them!"

Just what I need - more chicks.

Birthday is coming up.... hubby said I could have some more chickens for my birthday.... marans hatching eggs... Raven1 how much notice do you need? I have to do some modifications on the incubator maybe... but the first of the month? Are you coming this way anytime soon? If not I will come to you. I think just black coppers or if you can do 18 eggs 12 FBCM and 6 blue CM. My mother is going to get me a digital scale for the eggs

I love that this area has so many different, and gorgeous breeds...everything is at your fingertips!! I just took off November 12th I am gonna go to the Newport,Tn Chicken show...I am thinking about even entering a couple....I don't expect to win but I think it will be fun!!! I am excited it will only be my second one

I learned so much by talking to as many people as I could at the last one...

It's like you can think of so many things you want but wont buy for yourself then when you are asked....I have no freakin clue LOL ....

Saturday the 24th. When is yours in October? My mother's is the 17th and hubby's is 23rd. Want some Blue and Black Barred rock chicks? Due to hatch next Tuesday!!!! Or I could hatch you some Production Reds, might even be with a broody pullet??? She has only been laying for a month or two and she is going broody wth? She is a NH, are they that broody really?????

BTW Pray for us... nothing bad, we had someone call about buying the back part of land at the house we are living in, in Nashville and we called them back and offered the whole house and land for just the mortgage we really need this off our backs so pray this goes well please. Thanks

I just got a quad of BBRphoniex bantams a couple of weeks ago. I love them. Of course the roo dropped his tail and started moulting as soon as I got him home! The hens are moulting also but one is finished and nshe is laying. May have to try for winter chicks after all!lol. Are all your birds large fowl?

Been busy tearing down my old pigeon loft ,trying to save the material(I am a scavenger!) and am going to build some nice A-Frame pens for my bantams. Maybe if they look pretty the wife will like my hobby better! NOT! lol I'm ready for the rain to be over for a while.

She has lots of farm/gardening/home magazines like Hobby Farms,Dwell,Organic gardening,Urban Farm and a bunch of other old house,other farming and stuff like that.Then for the sweet tooth..or the nuts around us she has candy products and nuts.The deadline is the 1st for online orders.If you want the link please e-mail me your address..I have to send the link through the company.

for Crossroads and the Rabbit Convention...shucks it's the same weekend in the same location

I'm going to behave somewhat so if anyone needs either a chicken/duck whatever or a rabbit brought down let me know I will have a few spaces open.I'm taking my car without a doubt so I won't have very many spaces.I will be coming home on Sunday afternoon so will get into our area that night..can drop off along the way or they can stay a few days if needed.I don't go past Portland on the interstate so no Nashville area drop offs though.
