I have all standards, yes. I thought about picking up a pair or two of some really nice bantams at the exotic sale in Cookeville, but thought it was best for housing purposes to just keep to the standards since I already have a bunch of them.
I bought my BBR's just recently, and the roo was molting as well - the hens are now. He had these enormously long saddle feathers, though, that dragged the ground a few inches, plus a few leftover tailfeathers that were impressive. Several of the hens I got with him are showing rooster-type feathering (but are clearly hens), so I'm really excited to see the offspring. I'm not going to do any more hatches after this month, until February, due to the weather.
Bad thing about standards is the HOUSING. I have one tall coop and a huge run that was finished earlier this year, but I needed separate quarters for each breed and roo - so I bought two giant 6x8x4 metal aviaries and have my "Christmas present" on order - a 4 stall shed-row with each stall being 4x12x6. That should be enough to house two sumatra breeding pools, two Phoenix breeding pools, a grow-out pen, and two overflow pens to grow out the Phoenix cockerels on perches (so their tail feathers will be protected). I wish I could scavenge, but I've got a picky old fashioned man around that insists women aren't to use power tools and wants the pens made of specific wood so it - get this - "matches" the other pens and barn.
