It sounds to me like a coon also the best way to catch them is if you have a live trap when you set it use marshmellows for the bait...... I have several friends and family members who have coon dogs they hunt and when they have traps set to catch one to use for training dogs they have great success with the marshmellow and also a 25 cent little debbies honey bun works great to..... sorry to hear about the loss.........

Oh, Tish! I am so sorry! I have no advice for you. The last possum here was dispatched by a 16 gauge before it could get anyone. I hate the things. Can you try a baby monitor out in your coop so you can hear what is going on out there?

I have a monitor and electric fence for the coop but I have been breaking things down due to the move. I start packing tomorrow I have hutches for the birds to go in and the coop is secure. It is my fault for not checking every corner of the run with at flash light. The hole was to small to be an adult coon or possoum. I will lock all birds in the coop or a hutch tonight so it won't get anymore, but I want the thing that got her. Cathy if I had time I would bring them to you right now things are so crazy for me I can't think straight. I will take you up on the offer in a couple days. Thanks you are a sweetie. ALL Birds (including teens) are locked up tight in the coop with cement blocks in front of the door and the ramp leading up in laying on the floor. My coop is 3 foot off the ground so I put the door in place and then put cement block on the inside blocking the entry if in the event the **** thing messes with the door. I have the trap set with what was left of my baby, some KFC and marshmellows I left the run door open with the trap inside the run in about the same spot I found her. New batteries in the flashlight, and my sniper hubby inside waiting. GAME ON. tick tock tick tock now I wait.

What is that saying about hell and a mad woman?
