Might want to go to that. I can do an 1 1/2 drive even with 2 kids LOL

Cleaned ALL 10 Breeding pens today.....

Now I just need to get in the runs and spray with a strong solution of Oxine for the quarterly cleaning.

I love selling birds I didn't know I was going to sell. Someone wanted my Splash Cuckoo roo and his Aunt talked me into some Barred Rock chicks LOL. I think I hatched about 4 doz chicks so I think I can spare a few pullets and she wants the FREE little roos too

My little Olive Egger roo and I had it out today. He is going to be dinner. He has always been standoffish and would come in the pen when I feed them or something and kinda act like he wanted a fight. So today when I opened the pen to clean it, it was ALL ON LOL. I won, cuz I had the cleaning stick in my hand

he didn't want to come back for more either. I have another roo, I am not going to put up with that.

Ok...can you hear that? I'm patting myself on the back. It only took my husband, a glass of wine, some sharp scissors and 3 YouTube videos, but I clipped the wings of my 3 flyers.....they didn't even flinch. Of course afterwards 2 of them went into the coop and got on the roosts and ignored me, they'll get over it after a little pouting. Hopefully this will help in the winter and I won't have to worry about them taking off in the bushes and risking frostbite.

You did have the wine AFTER you cut the wings????

I guess that was a little confusing, actually I gave the wine to the chickens...LOL.....all I know is after the first one, the other 2 were a piece of cake, it didn't hurt them or me..

Anyone have 1-2 day old chicks? I have a broody hen i would like to give some chicks to. Just about any standard breed would be ok. I am in Gallatin. Thanks

Hi everyone, I have not posted on here in a while. How is everyone and their chickens? All of my chickens are finally all grown and everyone but my polish and 2 silkies are laying I am down to 35 hens and 5 roos due to random deaths while growing up and selling extra roos. They are now 28 and 35 weeks old and everyone seems to be doing fine...I lost my only little Japanese bantam on the 1st of November I dont think she could tolerate the sudden cold weather. And also last week one of my Red Sex-links got a prolapsed vent not anything too major just a little bit bulging out about the size of a quarter, I put some preparation h on her and let her be I did not try to push it back in since it was such a small amount out. I looked at her the next morning and it had gone back in and I continued to put preparation h on her for a few days and the entire time all of this was happening to her she continued to lay. I am still saving my money for a incubator and plan to put my cochins in their separate pen in March and start hatching and selling their eggs...I also plan to hatch some assorted guineas, SQ standard and bantam Cochins, Cream legbars, and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte from donna next spring-summer
