I too lost lots of little guys to the temp swings. I don't think it was the cold as much as going from 80 to 31

I lost about 15 so far to the cold. Some 3-4 months down to little guys in my unheated shop. I can fix the temp in the shop.... I can't in the grow out pens

You get that bator and PRACTICE and maybe in Dec or Jan I will hook you up with some BLRW... cuz I don't want to hatch for about a month.... ALL of Dec if I can. I just need a little break and that give the birds a chance to GROW UP and GO OUT SIDE!

I too lost a few due to the random changes in weather. But not many. Saturday it was in its 60s and sunny and dropped to 28 with wind here.

Pretty birds. Ans they look happy!

I am going to MOVE the broodies to a pen maybe that will break them QUICK! Enough is enough! I think they are running the other 2 away from the nest boxes.

I wish the bucket lids and grit bowls wasnt in the back but it is a beautiful pic. She has grown so much. And Ill take any eggs I can get. Lol I wasnt goingto hatch but after storing a lot of my belongings I have extra brooder room.

Yeah I put them in the freezer but didn't get to put it under the nest box.... I may MOVE them AND use ICE PACKS LOL How about a spare roo... just to really mess with their heads

I have a young splash roo that should want to torture them

hit them on 3 fronts!
