I don't have a pic on hand, but its (Faithway) the same percentages and everything as Tucker layer crumble. They'd be fine for bantams. I use them for baby chicks all the way up to full grown geese. I have tried pellets so many times, but it all ends up on the ground.

I agree Donna...we love Tim at Edwards and there feed smells sooo good and fresh...but there was just way to much waste...and when you are feeding as many as we have it really adds up and gets into your pocket ( I mean the chickens pocket) LOL

I have reworked my feeders to stop them from digging it out too. It all help. The Tuckers pellets they will eat off the ground, not so much with the mash from Edwards. I have stopped mixing my brewed grains into the layer feed, I do still mix it in with the grower to save some chicken money.

I like that tuckers has PORK as the main protein source.

We also liked the fact that Tucker's had the animal protein to take the place of the insects that they would receive if they were free ranging.....since they are not free range...we are going to try the pellets and see how it goes and if it doesn't go well we will try the Faithway....Donna do you have pics of the feeders?

Happy Mountain....does the Faithway have the 22% super layer...and does it contain any animal proteins or only plant proteins?

Thanks to both of yall for all of the helpful information.....we appreciate it.....

I will see what I can get today. We had TONS of 4 inch PVC pipe and we used that and a container for it to fall into. The first ones we used where too short and they could dig it out. These are TALLER and they don't dig it out. I don't think you could fine the containers we are using. They were a summer thing they were selling. I had to go to 4 Family Dollars to find what I got

Thanks Donna....maybe I could tweak it for the bantams since they are smaller and in smaller tractors with only 5 or 6 per tractor...they don't eat very much....so I don't want the feed just sitting out there....any ideas...LOL

I originally used one of those small shoebox type plastic things from the dollar tree. The new ones are just one pipe and a different bottom that is twice as tall.

Oooooh no no no- I don't use any animal protein. The chickens and ducks get that from bugs. I raise geese on the same feed and pasture , and you don't want to be giving them any of that. Even if I did, we are a kosher farm

I wish that Faithway had a super layer, but if they do, my local feed stores don't sell it. Sometimes I will get a bag of game finisher or Flockraiser if I need to give them a boost.

There is no way I will get near the computer tomorrow so....I'd like to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! May God bless you all and keep you and your families safe....enjoy the day and take time to reflect on your many blessings. One thing I will be thankful for is finding this forum and all the new friends I have made.....God Bless.
Cindy
