Nicholas dismounted out side of a small stone built home nestled in the ferns, he helped Naveen down from white steed and hitched the horse beside the house. They had ridden through the day and had only stop for brakes when Naveen demanded that they do so, which was about every hour. The forest darkened as the sun dipped below the horizon and the night animals began to emerge, as the two entered the house. Naveen collapsed onto the one bed and groaned, then said, "I hurt everywhere, we I'll not be ridding that much in one day again!"
Col chuckled as he built up the wood in the hearth and with his back to her, he reached into one of the many inner pockets of his tunic, pulling out a small red stone and placing it in the hearth under the wood. Making sure Naveen could not see around him, he gentle blew on the stone and whispered something in a strange tongue, fire bloomed from the stone and quickly spread to the wood. Nicholas stood and move to the bed, a fire now crackling, filing the room with warmth. "See? I told thee I would not let us freeze, my Lady." Col said with a winning smile as he laid beside Naveen, who promptly fell asleep.
