One of the monsters suddenly leaped forward, grabbing Emily around the neck and picking her up. The poor kid was absolutely terrified. She let out another blood-curdling scream

Blake sprinted down the hallway, following the screams. He found the door, which was already broken into, and he saw a small girl being attacked by [however many monsters are attacking her] monsters. He let out a yell, averting the monsters' attention. "HEY! Over here!"

( i like how everyone else is being brave and stuff, but Sky is just watching Netflix. if that isn’t a mood, I don’t know what is.)

Emily didn't need to be told twice. She sprinted as fast as she could out of her room, though it felt like she was in a bad dream and her feet were made of lead

Sky turned the volume on the tv higher to drown out the sounds of people fighting for their lives outside. They knew normally their neighbors would complain with the television this loud, but they figured their neighbors would have bigger problems right now.

Blake blocked the entrance to give the kid some time to get away. You're an absolute fool, Blake Burns. He told himself. You can't fight monsters with only one arm.

Atara crept down the halls, she wanted to raid the candy machine. She was starving hungry and hadn’t eaten in quite a few days

Atara smashes the glass on the vending machine plucking a few bags of chips and bottles of water, she heard slithering noises behind her. She froze turning slowly before smashing the monster with a shard of glass and proceeding to scream at the top of her lungs

Sky really wanted to scream shut up at all the loud people in the hallways, but they quickly realized that they themselves were blasting Netflix on top volume, so they decided against it.
