The Moonshiner's Leghorn Thread Peanut Gallery

Sometimes, though usually it is poultry related things.
My poultry project leader is very nice and donated chicks from high quality stock in a brooder with supplies for youth to potentially win in the raffle. (Or adults too I suppose.)
So do you think hatching eggs or pullets/pairs might be good prizes? Most of the people in expecting will be 4Hers looming for birds to fill up show slots (male -/+ a year and female -/+ a year for bantam and standard classes of clean and feathered legged, with or without a crest, so like 8 possibilities for each sex so lots of different show slots avaliable)

Yes

Maybe you could do something like 10-2 or something? That might be better maybe? Especially if people are coming from far away, they might not think it’s worth it for a real short time
I personally would love to do one for all day, but we might not have bathrooms avaliable and obviously people can only be comfortable holding it for so long

Hmm that makes sense! Although it would t really technically be all day, only like 4 hours or so, so that might be reasonable maybe? 😊 I’m sure 12-2 would work too though! I just know I’ve seen 10-2 a lot for various events etc. 😊

You changed your name!

Sometimes all the best birds get sold right within the first 30 minutes anyways, though with a raffle sometimes its longer.

That's a good point with birds selling fast. Do you usually find having a harder time moving males along?
No, it might even be easier at times (though they are sold for a lot less than they are worth) We have a large Hmong community here and they buy live heritage chickens for meat. (Especially Silkies.)
