@Overo Mare, do you ever have pullets go broody? I think my oldest (by like a week) barred pullet just kicked my Japanese off the nest and took over. She's certainly acting broody. She was a march 3rd chick so roughly 6 months

Okay, cool. I was just worried that she kicked her off just to hoard the nesting box to herself. She knows she's the top girl in the group and likes to reinforce her status occasionally. As long as someone is brooding the eggs, I don't really care so much who.Absolutely
It's gotta be done.@ColtHandorf. what's going on with that bobcat?
I just caught bits and pieces. Saw something about shooting it. Are you setting traps?
Saw about the white orps. That sucks and I feel your pain. I lost one of my barred lacy girls and my only crele hen that's old enough and laying the night before last. Knew it was a raccoon because they were grabbed through the wire and pulled to it.

So because of the increase of covid cases our local feed store has cancelled their fall chick days.
Luckily their fall fish day will continue as scheduled.

I don't have any traps large enough to try catching her in a live/box style trap. I'm trying to find someone willing to come do it, with no real luck. I've waited up trying to shoot the stupid thing and it never shows up on a night that I'm out there.@ColtHandorf. what's going on with that bobcat?
