I've been dragging to break 500.
Think either next hatch or the one after I'll be back up in the 30s or more hatched per week.
I was shooting for around 700 this year.

I sell a lot more males but I sell quite a few females too.
The projects produce a lot of stuff I don't need. I may keep 25% from a pen or maybe only like 1 out of 16.

What about hatching to make your broody happy?

I’ve done that before and just for my own curiosity/the cuteness and she was a horrible mom always losing track of her chicks and I had to save them or force her to hah she also left the nest a bunch during incubation. Another hen eventually stole the chicks at maybe 4 weeks? Or maybe 2, I forget exactly, when she abandoned them and decided she didn’t wanna be a mother anymore It’s a miracle they survived to adulthood or at all really lol

Anyone want to throw their 2 cents in on how this could have happened.....

I set 14 eggs (7 from each group) 13 chicks hatched

Black Rooster over Blue, Black, Cuckoo hens..... have always had blue, black, cuckoo and splash chicks from them...

Double gene Cuckoo Rooster over Cuckoo and Blue Hens (the 2 blue hens are bred from the first group)

Where did the 2 light brown chicks come from and whats hiding where? Possibilities?

I already posted this in a PM, so some have seen it already. This pullet came from black roo over black and blue.
