So in your opinion, would you say that that hen is an outlier as far as size goes, or maybe they brought in say, a Speckled Sussex or similar to achieve that pattern then try to breed back to Leghorn type?

Outdoor work has been tiring.
I've been losing some chicks. Too hot even without any lights.
Expect hatch rates to go down with fresh eggs being in this heat.
Wood prices are ridiculous so a lot of plans on hold.

A few are weak and I had 6 dead in the hatchers.
I'm blaming that on the heat too.
Probably be the last week of putting exchequer eggs in the incubator.
Or at least pure exchequer.
