Yes I'm still loving them and so far both Cockerels are well behaved.Let them get fully mature and you'll really love them.
Cockerels seem to go through an awkward stage that lasts a few months or more.
The brown duckwings also take a long time to get their full color in.
I think that's all cockerels. Sometimes they are cutely awkward but still awkward.Let them get fully mature and you'll really love them.

Maybe thats why I like modern game bantams so much. They look like they're stuck in that awkward leggy phaseI think that's all cockerels. Sometimes they are cutely awkward but still awkward.
When you say checkered, are you talking about candy corn/ Tolbunt or barred?I'm starting a breeding project to make some need breeds. But I don't know if there's a way to get a new breed recognized as official breed. I'm making new variety of polish hens called the checkered color and making a breed I call Giant Britchens Marans. Mixing Giant Colombian Sussex and french cuckoo marans you get a chicken that looks like a huge black Britchens maran.
Barred, I couldn't remember what it was called. When you say checkered, are you talking about candy corn/ Tolbunt or barred?
