The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Cam immediately willed herself to become temporarily deaf.
Kyle, who was a champion at whistling, tried to harmonize but eventually took the spotlight like

“You know, I’m surprised that this elevator hasn’t stopped and tried to kill us already, considering the rest of the building’s rude behavior,” Cam said, lifting her knuckle to rap on the smooth wood paneling behind her.
But it her hand was too late: skree ee ee eeeeeeeeeeeee... thunk. The thunk was her hesitant fist when she realized what she had done.
The elevator came to a stop, and the doorway was blocked by a wall (between floors.)
Kyle glared at her and strode towards the opening with dignity, peeking his head through the inch-wide gap (2.5 cm) between the edge of the opening and the wall.
“Is there a way to get this going again?” He stared down the shaft from whence they had come. It was a dizzying height, though Kyle had never been intimidated by the stationary kind of height. (Dangling from people’s hands was a different story.)

The sudden jarring stop of the elevator shook Kipp awake. He groaned, at the tingling burning sensation in his bitten leg. Everything else felt tingly too, like they'd been asleep, but his leg seemed to pulsate with it. He tried to move, but was held immobilized by what seemed to be a warm furry blanket wrapped around him.

After the little showcase of whistling, which left Take surprised at Kyle’s hidden talent, he looked towards the ceiling.
I can get out through these panels.
He jumped up, his hands in the air as he bumped a panel, revealing that it could be opened. He jumped again, with more strength this time and it popped open like a hatch.
“Alright, I’ll get on top of this thing and tell you guys what’s up”
Before anyone could say anything, he threw himself up and pulled into the open shaft space with his upper body strength.

Blair had recovered her hearing finally and was comforting Kit, who was still pawing at the bee-sting on her nose, when the elevator gave the most horrendous screech. She slammed her hands over her ears as the elevator shook and screamed until it shuddered to a halt, leaving them trapped between floors.
She uncovered her ears, glancing around the elevator. They were entirely enclosed, until there was four thuds that caught her attention, and she turning in time to see Take leap through an open gap at the top.
She peered up, pulling away from her corner and coming to the rest of the group. "This is exactly what I was worried about. Who thought it was a good idea to jump in an elevator in a castle that's tried to kill us?"

Take observed the roof and shaft of the elevator. It was seriously old and full of spider webs. He noticed the many ropes and chains that were hoisting the car.
Seriously, how is this thing still working?
He leaned his head back to see how much up they still had to go, which looked like a couple hundred feet.
We need to get going, plus it smells old and dusty up here... like a retirement home..
As Take stepped around, observing, he came to a rotateable iron handle that was connected to the main hoist ropes.
So I gotta do this thing manually then.
Without warning, he started cranking the handle in a circular motion and the elevator started moving again, emitting a severely loud screeeechhhhh.
He gritted his teeth, his eyes wincing with every crank. It wasn’t going to be easy to pull up a combined weight from a group of people, but Take was doing it steadily.

Clary looked at Charlie. Hidden behind her look of annoyance, there was a hint of fear. “No. No jumping, you guys will bring this thing down. We might already be past the weight limit.” She said.
“Yeah, seriously man,” Kyle said, gripping Rylie’s fur. The jumping seriously unbalanced him.
Cam shuffled her feet. It was rather crowded in there.
"Sorry," Charlie said. As everyone started humming elevator music, he tapped his finger against the wall, trying to stay in tune with them. Wish I'd brought my headphones.

"Uhhhh," Charlie tried to look innocent and stuck his hands in his pockets.
