Just make sure you follow protocols for any normal new bird. Make sure you do not put her and your other new birds with any other bird for two weeks.. than after two weeks.put one of your birds in with the new birds for two weeks. If every thing is all good..you can let them live together.I'm wondering if you have some ideas! I stopped and picked up some marans from a heritage breeder and after the long travel home, the splash has a wet nose. It would have been hot in the car, so it could be stress. I'm sprinkling cayenne in her food, giving her sips of colloidal silver and have fresh garlic slices in her water - any other natural ideas? It seems very mild
Awesome, I'm looking to get some heritage RIR's this spring once we get an incubator. Haven't been able to find a high-altitude breeder yet though, I've read that eggs from lower elevations have trouble hatching at higher elevations (we're at 6500 ft)No..those are the parents to the eggs I am hatching now..right now!!
YAY!!!I have three pips ....![]()
Glad you found them and that they are OK!The other two teens were hiding inside the tops of the nest boxes, can't see them there unless below box level. They even went to the top roost with the big kids, a first. Usually I have to put them out of the nest box and onto the middle roost.
Thank you, that has some really nice parts that I learned additional information!

I'll take a stab at guessing. Last mixed chick looks to be about four weeks old or less. I think cockerel based on the feet, legs, and beak. I've never seen a chick like this so really a guess.
Quote: I heard that too..I also heard you can't hatch eggs shipped in the mail, or shipped in freezing weather. I have my eggs shipped in freezing weather three states away with elevation differences. I sure hope I do OK.
They are so cute!!Here are my wifes Silkies, sex guesses please
