The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

What do you guys think of this rooster? We named him Einstein probably our most favorite rooster among our group.

Oh, he's beautiful!!
He matches my Frizzle Bantam Cochin, Snoodle.

Aw, she is great!! We have a black Cochin hen, we call her Mrs. E (Mrs. Einstein)! as well as a barred rock that we want to pair with him to get some barred rock frizzles and a white and black Cochin bantams.

I just started keeping chickens at all and ended up with her by accident.
I don't have a roo for her and I don't think she's laying; if she is, they're massive eggs for her pound and a half size. lol

Bantams tend to lay less then regular standard breeds, and my frizzle when she lays they are normally small like a Silkie bantams eggs.

How old is your Frizzle hen?

Oh, thank you. The comparison helps!

She's 9 months +. I bought her in the middle of March; I think she was about two weeks old. She and the other ten were the last ones left at Tractor Supply.

Of course, I love talking about chickens it is a great passion for me!

What kind of grain do you feed them, I normally spread some scratch grain in there yard during the winter so they have something to look forward to when they wake up and a filler to get them bigger. I noticed the filler helps them produce eggs more.
