Ok. Here's the deviled version.

These are adorable, as are the first ones you posted. How in the heck does she get such smooth hard-boiled eggs? I never seem to be able to get the shells off without totally destroying the egg inside. I've tried all sorts of different methods to boiling the eggs, but nothing works great for me.
To hard boil eggs and have the shells slip off, put eggs in pot with cold water covering them. Bring to boil and turn off heat and leave for an hour or overnight. Works well the shells slip right off.

But...
I'm w/ @RedRidge on this one. I had a dog my whole life...never went without one until my last one died in 2007. I have never replaced her and I decided that if I ever get another it will have to work for a living. That would be to guard the stock and it would HAVE to guard the chickens.
My whole life my dogs were pets - friends and part of the family. Didn't matter at all how useless they might be...you can't get rid of a family member.
So If I do this again, they are going to be like "hired hands". If they don't do their job they can't stay. It's a really different mind-set for me but that's the way it's going to be.
That's not to say that having a dog as a companion for the elderly, a child, etc. isn't doing a job. And I would consider that very valuable in many situations and in that case would be considered a family member.
Just at this stage of my life, they have to serve a different purpose.
Hmmm. That's one I haven't tried. I do put the eggs in cold water, but after it starts to boil I usually let it boil for 5 min and then remove the eggs and rinse them under cold water. I'll try your method! Let 'em sit overnight is totally something I can do!
