LM...How goes the foot?

I worked with it yesterday morning - was not able to remove anything but did open it up a bit and get some NuStock and Neosporin on one and Icthammol/Neosporin into the other.

I separated her on a clean floor with clean chips after working with her yesterday to keep the bandage on and clean.

I will be back at the house and re-soak/re-evaluate this afternoon. Here's what the worst one looked like after soaking yesterday:

LL

The swelling was considerably less after the soak and working w it for a bit but I don't have a photo of that.

I'm considering some other courses of action but won't know until I evaluate it this afternoon.

It was a warm toasty 36 degrees yesterday (it felt warmer in the sun) when I got out of work so I decided to start work on the hoop coop.

Got the cattle panels attached to the 2x4s, fir strips on near the top and double layer of plastic on for the top. I had to put the plastic on now since I am really short and there would be now way to get it on after. Lets hope when I bend it to put the other 2x4s on it to form the base the plastic doesnt rip. Not bad for a few hours work by myself.

Def going to need another person to help get the other 2 pieces attached. Its amazing how heavy & awkward those cattle panels are for one person lol

I think this hen was sleep walking at 630 this morning. She wandered out after I opened the pop door and put lasagna left overs & alfalfa down for them before I left for work. When my mom got there around 715 she was back roosted with her sisters lol

These 2 ladies were sold at the same hatchery as araucana:

(Sorry I don't have any better photos where I am right now.)

They are beautiful.

I often find Easter Eggers more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Their patterns and funky coloured beards.

I do like solid coloured birds (and Ameraucanas come in a couple patterns - silver, blue wheaton and wheaton) but I still really like the EEs.

I only have 4 pure bred birds in my 13 basement babies. The rest are all mixed. I have 2 bantam Ameraucanas, 1 Barred Rock pullet and 1 Blue silkie (I have no idea gender! I thought boy, but I'm second guessing - here's hoping). I so wish I had some EEs.

A couple of t posts driven into the ground are great "helpers" for putting a hoop house together. They hold one end steady and don't complain....

Fred, one of these days, I am going to change my flock to a heritage breed. I am between the Rhode Island Red and the Buckeye. Living in Ohio, I lean Buckeye and can probably get pretty good ones here. Not too sure where to get the RIR's. Suppose I could mosey over to that thread when it's time. How's Al?

Ooooh that's a great idea !!! I was thinking of pushing one end against garage door and pushing other end in till they met and screw them together. Of course I would still have the end against the garage to worry about lol I am sure I am quite entertaining to my neighbors.....I know I crack myself up with my antics of trying to do stuff myself lol

I was gonna maybe acquire some AM's for the blue eggs, but I like the looks and personality of the EE's. I am ok with green eggs from them. I will be getting some Cream Legbars for my Blue eggs later this spring along with some Marans for the dark eggs to complete my rainbow. Then gonna work on getting some Heritage BR's and keep working with the Silkies.
