The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Quote: Sorry..they are picking because of the confined space. They are bored. They need to get out and you need to reduce your flock. It does not matter what 4. You can't give them what they need and that is more space. The only answer is to cull or to just put up with it till they make each other ill and it becomes so ingrained they don't stop no matter how much room you give. You can kick them out of the coop during the day..that will help

Will do. I have a coworker that can't wrap his mind around the idea of a pallet coop. So I am documenting for him too. I did a lot of searches and looked at many different pallet coops. Since I had access to the solid top pallets, I couldn't help but use those. I just hope my allergies don't flare up like last weekend, eyes nearly swelled shut, took 2 days for swelling to completely subside.

Oh, I missed this. I am also interested, we get a few pallets every year with our pellets that my dh burns. I would like to do something more productive with them, but he is picky and doesn't like the looks of many he sees online.

I have finally downloaded the pictures from the Gold Coast Poultry Show. Here are some of the photos. I wish that I had known a little bit more before attending. I didn't take very many, or very good, photos of most. It was a little overwhelming to see so much poultry, so many breeds, etc.
