These aren't great pics but they show what I was meaning. The strips are short, I will make them longer, I made them short b/c I was going to fill the bucket to the bottom of the strips w/ hay, which I did, but they scratched all out (twice!!!!)

Kassaundra, I'll bet Bee's box hatcher thread folks would love your broody bucket almost as much as your feather duster broody. Both the chicks and I LOVE the feather dusters.
When I put the 3 weekers outside and it was overnight lows in the 40's and high 30's, I didn't want to put heat out w/ them so I took a 5 gallon bucket laid it on it's side drilled holes (like about 40 or 50) about the diameter of a pencil and then cut strips of fleece and pulled them through the holes and dangled the ends in the bucket, put that in the big outside brooder and they all sleep contentedly in the bucket side w/ the fleece strips hanging all around them, all toasty and warm.
that bucket is the coolest idea! I love it. and you could do it with a cardboard box, too...in case you had more chicks....

Well it was dusk when I hooked up the pop door bit the girls got their new roof and end panels. Took us almost all day but they are covered up before the snow Tuesday. I still need to secure one side along the bottom and trim the tails off the zip ties but at least it's up.
I used pipe insulation covers around the arches of the coop so I didn't poke holes thru the plastic or billboard. It popped thru on the old tarp where the sharp ends from the cattle panels were cut. The hardware cloth I scored cheap is on the right side which never has the protection of the electric netting.
Hard to tell but the clear plastic is on both ends. It's so clear I can see the girls inside the coop from inside the house now. To bad they don't have a meadow or mountain view when watching the sunrise or sunset. @RedRidge thanks again for telling me about the clear plastic. It reminds me of the same kind used for my "windows" in my pop up camper
New old nesting box is attached. Girls must of approved since they left us eggs. Now we can gather eggs from the outside. The wood is cedar so hopefully no creepy crawlies will visit. I need to put a piece of wood across the front so they quite kicking out the shavings.
Big girl, Stella & Edie made sure we didn't misplace their Nana Crack.
