That was a nice mix of birds. It lets you know what interests you, meat, eggs, behaviors, color of eggs, or bird, things like that. Than you can go on from there.
My second flock included 2 polish. The rooster got his crest pecked open after months of being harassed, and needed to be culled. The hen was "killed" multiple times by the dog. I quickly learned she played dead and was totally hysterical about everything. I also had 3 silkie roosters that fought constantly. Thankfully I also had 2 actual Americana, a buff Orpington, and a barred rock, which started my love of the buff Orpington.
I learned a lot of hard lessons on my second flock, my first was even a bigger mess because it was about half roosters because they were pretty. I always regret learning stuff the way I did but back then there wasn't any internet nor folks on BYC to teach people stuff, so they hopefully can avoid those type of hard lessons.
