The Never Ending Hatching thread! For those of us that hatch all year long!

Mama BLRW stated incubating eggs yesterday.
I put 9 eggs under her yesterday.
All BLRW.
My mixed group will be a month old Tuesday.

I just put 42 in my bator today...

Gotta love a free incubator. I have 3 BLRW in lockdown right now. Good luck!
down to 8 that might hatch next week, then in a little less then 3 weeks almost 6 dozen. I know it will be far fewer then that but that is what i have incubating right now.
Fingers still crossed. Getting cramps!

Something will hatch I know it will. :) In a few days I am trading some from one incubator to the other. I moved the incubators to my living room so i can keep an eye on them better and so when it comes time to hatch I'll know they are hatching. going to move the ones that are closer to hatch to the incubator right by my chair.
I can't wait to see what they look like. many different breeds of hens with the most adorable mixed breed tiny rooster. The hens are all big hens. That is just the ones that will hatch in about a week.
The others i can't remember what breeds but the eggs go from white to deep dark brown, and some green/blues.

I now have my mom and her neighbor begging for pullets. Not chicks but pullets that are close to laying eggs.

two more eggs down :( They are the ones due to hatch in about a week. One blood ring, and one had great veins a few days ago but today the veins weren't anywhere to be seen in it and it looked cloudy inside (bacteria i guess?) I removed both. I'm down to 6 eggs that might hatch in a week. Hoping no more of them quit on me. it really bugs me that they keep dieing off. Yes I know i'm candling to often I have so many eggs that i candle a few everyday to see any progress and remove any that aren't doing well.

Update: My elementary school hatch has begun. The janitor called the teacher this morning and said "You have chicks!". Not sure how many yet but that will be one excited first grade class. I will stop by there tomorrow to check on them and set up the brooder.

That "cloudy" egg could have been viable yet. They often get a cloudy look for a couple days about half way through development as a wider network of fine veins develops. Never toss 1 the 1st time it looks suspicious unless it stinks or is leaking. They often surprise you and are fine in a few days.
