That "cloudy" egg could have been viable yet. They often get a cloudy look for a couple days about half way through development as a wider network of fine veins develops. Never toss 1 the 1st time it looks suspicious unless it stinks or is leaking. They often surprise you and are fine in a few days.

It was the mix of being cloud and the veins disappearing. and when i turned it while candling it had bubbles in it. If i could have cracked it open it would have smelled nasty.

That sounds like a shipped egg with a ruptured air cell. I typically still would have given it a couple days to make sure there was no further development as long as I couldn't smell anything through the shell.

I just discovered my incubator was running a bit low, like closer to 98.5 instead of 99.5. I am guessing I am going to have a late hatch but I am hoping it doesn't effect anything beyond that. Any advise or experiences out there?

lockdown is Thursday and I'm so excited I have a lot of cool breeds that r supposed to hatch out.

That sounds like a shipped egg with a ruptured air cell. I typically still would have given it a couple days to make sure there was no further development as long as I couldn't smell anything through the shell.

this particular egg wasn't shipped. The one that had an aircell in the small end was shipped. I have a few eggs from my moms house.

I am having a really hard time keeping the RH up in the incubator. I have 4 little containers with sponges in them, a soaked paper towel and all the wells full of water.
This gets me to 45%. If I shut off half of the intake air hole i can get it up to about 55-60.. but then this provides less fresh air inside......

the LG instructions say to have both air holes open.. BTW

I would do what it takes to keep humidity up. Block both holes off if you need to. There is air in there. Does yours have little holes above the thermostat? If it does then air is getting in there. Having trouble keeping humidity UP in Florida sounds strange. Good luck!!

I'm convinced my fan is a wee bit too strong, i might switch it down from 12v to a 9V power supply and see if that helps. When i have the incubator on and its in the winter i keep the AC at
72 (prevents room temp dropping below the control point if we have a cold spell and making the bator cooler). With the AC on the room RH is pretty low. I saw a GQF 1502 sportsman on craigslist yesterday, but the guy was asking $650 for a used one!

My baby roo is doing his thing allover the place lately even though he is only 15 weeks, I guess my next hatch will be setting some of my own eggs to see if he is practising or if he can make babies for real now. I'll make the mods to the LG then and see if I have improved it...
