To keep humidity up I add wet sponges in the bottom of the incubator. Works great without cutting off any air from the eggs.

It definitely helps but i have 4 sponges in there already.. I"m doing fine right now though, I have it at around 60%.. I think i am going to make some wicks out of paper towels and put the ends in the sponges, nobody has pipped yet so I can still make some changes.
i am a day late but it sounds like a hygrometer thats off. take batteries out to reset it or compare with a secondthere is so much moisture in there... I'm up to 61% with the wicks added.. I heard a noise and I thought it was a chick trying to pip, then i realized it was one of the wicks dripping LOL!!!!!
you need some serious helpOk, so I moved all of the older chicks to the big brooder in the basement. Then I just couldn't stand looking at completely empty brooders up here in the "chick room" so I got 24 more peeps today when I went to the feed store.![]()
