Once we got the peepers in two weeks ago we took a bit of a breather, so there's still some projects left before it's completely finished. We still need to put a second coat of paint on the trim, put the cover over the ventilation fan, build the broody hen pen, put the countertop, sink, and shelves in the storage area, bend the hardware cloth at a 90 degree angle off the fence, touch up some paint in the interior, hang the flashing over the people and pop doors, and build roosts for the peepers. I'm hoping to start whittling away at that list this weekend. And I'm also hoping it's not 100 degrees + outside while we're doing it.

As for the hurricane straps, when was the last time you heard of a hurricane hitting CA? Add to tha we are 2 hours inland. But we do get really strong winds with our winter storms.

Okay, here's some updated pics.
The roof is now done. I'm still terrified of heights, but I managed to hoof it up and down the ladder.
The lodge poles are sunk in concrete for the run. The run will be 20 ft wide and 50 ft long.
All the vents are covered in hardware cloth. If a raccoon can scale concrete siding and then manage to get through this, then he's a super raccoon.
This weekend my husband will work on the fencing, while I'm working on building the door and starting the framing/shelves for the brooder area. If I get done with that, I'll begin building the nesting boxes.
I'm so overloaded with stuff to do, that I'm really stressing about getting this done. I've been canning, gardening, building, and there's just not enough time in the day. I can't even sleep anymore.

It looks awesome! I can't believe you're doing all the work by yourself. I believe you've inspired me to try to build a coop on my own. I'll need a separate coop for my October peeps when they're big enough, and I think I'd be hard pressed to get my hubby to build it...
I guess it must've cooled off a bit there. It finally has here - at least in the mornings. Afternoons are still pretty toasty, but it finally doesn't feel like a sauna outside at 7:00 a.m.

Thanks, although I don't know if I will ever do this again. It is a big frustration, but will be a big reward when it's done. And it's sooooo close to being finished. I just have to work hard to finish it, even though I'm beat.
