someone posted the link for the Ameraucana breeder's club earlier, it's
www.ameraucana.org
the recognized color varieties are
Black, Blue, Blue Wheaten, Brown Red, Buff, Silver, Wheaten & White
that being said, breeding blue to blue will result in some splash and black as well. splash bred to black will in turn produce blues... so yes blue is recognized but black and splash are all part of the same breeding pen. most people just abbreviate it BBS.
lavender is a project variety people are working on... btw, the APA recognizes the COLOR name as self blue, but the name of the GENE is Lavender... confusing I know, but some people get hinky within certain breeds... the APA has stated repeatedly they will not add Lavender to the list of recognized colors, because self blue is already there and is the same thing.
project colors are things breeders are working on to standardize to eventually bring up to the APA and request approval usually... some color projects may never get standardized, some might.
again I ask, if they are purebred and bred to the standard of perfection, I'd like to see pics of your breeders and know what color varieties you are producing. if you are mixing colors, then they are not purebred since the resulting offspring would not match a standardized color. the only acceptable color crosses are blue/black/splash, and wheaten/blue wheaten.
