The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

You asked? Rookie mistake.

Tis sometimes better by far to ask forgiveness than permission......

Two words, plausible deniability.....

If there are some that no longer tickle your fancy, sell them as chicks. THe younger ones sell based on the cuteness factor. THe  older ones sell based on knowing the gender = people buy just the girls so charge much more. Do you have a plan for the boys: breeders, dinner, or sell for dinner?

Get yourself into the construction-learn to use the power tools and you will find life is easier when you feel empowered!!

Actually I've had bad hatches so not getting rid of anything yet but I do have plans once I have trios/quads for breeding. Powertools.... Yes I need to learn.... Just need someone to show me. DH can't right now. Which is probably a GOOD thing for me! :lau

Thanks for the advice!!

Lol I use my power tools for everything :) Building pens and coops is just so easy with them. I do most of the building while Dh is at work and anything I need help with I draft him into on weekends :) Although he has now said no more chicken stuff I am going to be building another growout cage for all the ones in the incubator! Lol :)

I've treid using battery operated power tools and I like that they are light weight and go anywhere bc/ no extension cords needed.

My brother showed me as a teen; now I teach my kids. They can use sawsall and drill but NOT the skillsaw. NO NO NO, not yet.

Have you tried your local store like HOme Depot or Lowes to take classes or ask if someone can give you a few lessons? Do a work shop.

Turkeys do well over the winter. THe cold weather doesn't seem to bother them-- just protection from the cold and wet weather. THese will be big enough to be outside all winter long.
bump-- in case this got lost with all the chitchat

We are still somewhat cool-- THe farm is fairly cool with the closed canopy of trees. If anything one (chicken) pen stopped laying due to lack of sunlight. THe extra jakes seem to enjoy hanging out in the woods with the sussex.

SUe my PO is really good and kep my packages ina cool area-- not hot, not freezing. THey ship a lot of eggs at my PO and are very thought ful of the eggs. SO I hope your POis the same. Otherwise, the embryos are have already started on their 21 day journey!

If I might suggest, when you get them, keep them at the same temp and get them into the incubator asap. I keep my shipped eggs upright in an egg carton, maybe you do the same, to let the air cells heal.

The AC in the Post Office should be on even if it's closed. Most of them are on a timer - since it's a Holiday, and they are usually open on Thursday. Hopefully your eggs are OK.
