The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Nicely said. And I too hope you are doing better!
First let me say I am sorry to hear of your accident Starling and really do hope your daughter is doing better.

Then at the risk of being cursed out - some clarification.  You're new and an unknown to the auctions.  You'd be surprised how many people flake out and don't come through on payments - one of the reasons there is short auctions and BIN's is because of getting stuck with eggs that were "sold" then weren't paid for.  Payments are expected IMMEDIATELY following the end of an auction - not the next day and certainly not with PMs to make arrangements not responded to, especially with shipment stated to go out that next day.  All I'm saying is this, you can't jump down peoples throats for making assumptions that you yourself contributed to.  I screwed up my first auction too - but I was in close communication with the seller.  Just have your funds in order PRIOR to bidding, communicate and everything will go smoothly.    Hope the next ones go better for you - and no more bumper car incidents!

Best!

Eden camp-- at the risk of being cursed out. You would not beleive the number of times I have had to wait for a pyament even though is usually post that payment needs to be made at the end of the auction. THis is not high stakes poker! lol I had one customer need to delay for A WHOLE MONTH. THese are eggs folks . . . not our children or our homes . . .

I learned long ago when an employee didn't show up at work to not get into a tizz because it was all for naught. Usually, there was a dire situation and the emplyee couldn't call in. It is the chronic employee that is a problem-- not the one oops.

Yes we have all experienced people that "buy " our eggs and then bail-- goodness knows I had this happen this week end too. But I'm not on here screaming about it, though I would like to.

Instead I will have to put them up for a BIN.

In fairness to Starling NO ONE gave her the benefit of the doubt. EVERYONE assumed she had bailed. IMO we are to quick to judge.

Too close association with clucking biddies rubs off?

I'm just glad that it worked out, at this point I think people should not start bidding on something if they don't have the funds already in their Paypal account, its that simple. I had been waiting two weeks for lark to have another auction on those eggs, and I'm just very fortunate she thought of me when it looked like starlings sale was going south. Lark is sending her eggs as soon as they are back from vacation, which seems to be very honorable of her. We should all just be kinder to one another, after all, Starling's chicks and my chicks will be related, kind of......lol

I can remember not that long ago when I was a newbie to this auction forum, didn't know how it worked and stuck my foot in it not being exactly good to go - bit of a struggle to get my PP verified and Arielle was VERY kind and understanding getting payment worked through and sent out. It's frustrating when we want an auction and a newbie or last minute "ninja" comes in and "snatches" our wanted hatches and even more so when flubbs up not knowing the ropes. It's frustrating when payments aren't completed on deals. It's frustrating and stressful when trying to get things wrapped up before bolting out of town. Keeping perspective and balance is a good thing. I'm glad everthing worked out and the eggs didn't end up as breakfast. Not understanding the auction "protocol" dosen't really stack up to an auto-accident and a child in the hospital tho. Nor can people really be blamed for jumping to conclusions that in this case weren't the case but most typically are the case. Mehhh we're adults, not the first time we've had egg on our faces surely. The only true harm out of all this is from an unfortutate auto accident and surely none of us wish anything but condolences for that.

Now who has eggs?
